Four faculty members affiliated with the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence made presentations to a one-day workshop on The Ukrainian Crisis and International Politics on 25 March 2015 at Emory University: Miklaus Fabry, Nikolay Kopsov, Adam Stulberg, and Alasdair Young.  Fabry spoke on ‘Is upholding the territorial integrity of Ukraine possible?’.  Kopsov spoke on ‘Is Putin Limited by Russian Public Opinion?”. Stulberg spoke on ‘Between Restraint and War: Russia, Ukraine, Europe and the Changing Geopolitics of Natural Gas.’  Young presented on ‘The EU and The Ukraine Crisis: Meeting the Challenge?’.  The workshop brought together faculty from Emory and Georgia Tech and included economists, historians and political scientists.  About 80 undergraduate and postgraduate students and faculty attended the workshop. A number of the attendees were from Cultural Studies and the Russian Language Department, as well as history and political science.  The workshop was co-sponsored by Georgia Tech’s Jean Monnet Center of Excellence; and Emory’s; Russian, the East European, and Eurasian Studies Program; the Department of Russian and East Asian Languages and Cultures; and the Institute of Liberal Arts, and the Office of Religious Life.
