Supporting early career researchers involved two paired events at each of the European Union Studies Association Conferences in 2022 and 2023.
The day before the conference there was a one-day workshop “From Conference Paper to Journal Article: A Workshop for Advanced PhD Students and Early-Career Researchers”
At each workshop involved eight PhD students and/or early career academics who were presenting their papers at the EUSA conference and three senior academics. Each student’s paper was read and discussed by all of the participants with an emphasis on improving the piece for publication. Each paper had two ‘referees’ – a designated student discussant and a senior academic – with the student discussant presenting the paper.
