“From Conference Paper to Journal Article”
A Workshop for Advanced PhD Students and Early-Career Researchers
In advance of the 2022 EUSA International Biennial Conference
InterContinental Miami
18 May 2022
Georgia Tech’s Center for European and Transatlantic Studies, a Jean Monnet Center of Excellence, in conjunction with EUSA, is organizing a one-day workshop on publishing journal articles for advanced PhD students and early-career researchers (within 2 years of the award of the PhD) whose papers have been accepted to the 2022 EUSA conference. The aim of the workshop is to prepare conference papers for submission to a journal.
This intense workshop will replicate the refereeing process with all participants serving as both referee and refereed. Feedback will also be provided by leading academics. Participants are expected to read all papers and participate in all discussions.
Two nights of accommodation (double occupancy) (17 and 18 May) and meals will be provided. Limited travel support is available if funding from your home institution for attending the EUSA conference is insufficient.
The workshop is generously supported by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme.
Should the EUSA conference not be in person due to the pandemic, the workshop will go ahead virtually.
To apply please submit your accepted conference paper abstract and your CV in a single file to alasdair.young@gatech.edu by 14 February. Applicants will be notified by 28 February. Final conference papers are due 18 April.
